On the website, youll be able to get the quote for your rental, which will include a breakdown of costs right on the page. You can also give them a call directly at 1-800-722-5728. We recommend calling them regardless of whether you intend to book online, since you may be able to snag a discount.
There is no charge if you cancel your booking up to 48 hours in advance of service. If you cancel later than that though you will be charged a relatively high fee, so be sure to cancel in advance if you know that you need to.

I would have given a rating of 5 stars except for delays in pickup and drop off ! One time we were told our pickup of our full canister would be between 8:00 pm – 12:00 midnight we know there can be truck or employee problems, but I know there won’t be a pickup that late at night and in the dark. I just would say be more careful and don’t say times without being sure. Just try to meet the times you give to buyers a little better. Thank you

If you want a quote online, you head to Pack Rats website, enter some basic information, like where youre moving from and to, and the date you want your containers. Theres also a field to enter a Pack Rat promo code, which you can often get from right on the homepage, depending on what kinds of promotions are running at the time.
Based on your zip codes, Pack Rat will let you know whether service is available in your starting and ending locations. If its not, itll give you an affiliate link to use at UPack instead.
If Pack Rat is available where you are, you can continue the booking process if youre making a local move.
If youre moving long-distance, thats the end of what you can do online. Youll receive a reference number, and youll have to call in to get any further with your quote.
If youre moving locally, you can see options for container sizes and prices online. If you want to use the smallest container size , or use a mix of container sizes, you cant continue online and will have to call. Otherwise, you can review rental, transport, and delivery fees for 12- and 16-foot containers and choose how many youd like to reserve.

Know the Cancellation Policy
The cancellation policy isn’t bad, but you have to follow the rules. You have until 48 hours before the delivery of the empty containers to cancel without getting charged. After that, however, you’ll be paying a rather large sum if you cancel! For me, I would have to pay around $250 plus that extra mileage because I live so far away from a facility, which would come out to nearly $500 per container. Yikes.
Ask for Promos and Deals
You should definitely ask about promos or deals or simply if there are ways to lower the price. Explain that you’re not sure if this is within your budget, and the rep is likely to help you find ways to bring down the cost.
Have a Schedule in Mind
Much like PODS, this service allows customers to load and unload their items at their leisure. You pay for every month you keep the containers. But unlike PODS, the customer service reps encourage you to set dates for delivery and pickup during reservation.
This was good because I could better plan my move with the set dates, but I had one setback. I had hoped to schedule the delivery of the empty containers for a saturday. It would actually have to arrive the day before – a friday – because there are no deliveries or pickups on saturdays or sundays in New Jersey, apparently. It was a minor glitch.
Who can complain about getting the containers a day earlier? Well, you would, if you couldn’t be there!
